Key features

  • Up to 100 people, one name per line, with an overflow warning if you paste more.
  • Team count from 2 to 10 via slider, with a live average team size readout.
  • Balanced round-robin dealing guarantees team sizes never differ by more than one.
  • Optional Fisher–Yates shuffle powered by crypto.getRandomValues (on by default) with no modulo bias.
  • Per-team copy buttons plus a Copy all teams action for pasting into chat or docs.
  • Instant re-split rerolls the draw; team cards animate in with color coding.

How it works

  1. Paste your people

One name per line in the People panel — or hit Load sample to see it in action first.

  2. Choose the team count

Set 2–10 teams. If you have fewer people than teams, you'll be warned that empty teams will show as —.

  3. Split

Shuffle names first is on by default: the list is crypto-shuffled, then dealt round-robin so every team gets a fair share.

  4. Share the result

Copy an individual team or all teams at once, or hit Re-split for a completely new draw.

Tips for better results

  • Turn Shuffle off if the order of your list matters — names are then dealt in exactly the order you entered them (name 1 to Team 1, name 2 to Team 2, and so on).
  • Re-split as many times as you like — nothing is remembered, so every draw is fresh.
  • Paste straight from a spreadsheet column; blank lines are stripped automatically.
  • Duplicated names are treated as different people and can land on the same team.
  • For classrooms, Copy all teams produces a clean Team N list ready for chat or a slide.
