How it works

   Set the length

   Drag the length slider — 16 characters is the starting point and a solid baseline for most accounts.

   Choose your character sets

   Flip the toggles for uppercase, lowercase, numbers and symbols. Turn on exclude-ambiguous if you'll be reading the password aloud or typing it on a TV remote.

   Refresh until you like it

   Press Refresh password to roll a new one instantly. Each press re-draws from the full remaining pool.

   Check the strength, then copy

   The meter shows the label plus the ≈ bits of entropy (length × log2 of the pool). Happy with it? Copy password puts it on your clipboard.

Tips for better results

• 💡Entropy scales with length — a 16-character password from all four sets carries about 100 bits, far past the Excellent threshold of 80.
• 💡If a site caps symbols or length, just disable that set; the meter recalculates honestly rather than flattering you.
• 💡Use a different password per account — generate, copy, paste into your password manager, repeat.
• 💡Excluding ambiguous characters slightly shrinks the pool; only use it when you truly need to transcribe the password manually.
