Key features

• Live scanning prefers the browser's native BarcodeDetector and falls back to the jsQR library automatically.

• Inverted (white-on-dark) codes are decoded too, because the scanner attempts both polarities.

How it works

   Bring in the QR image

   Drop a file on the dropzone, click Paste image from clipboard, or press Scan with camera and hold the code in the brackets.

   Let it decode locally

   The image is drawn to an offscreen canvas (scaled down to at most 1000 px on a side) and scanned with jsQR or BarcodeDetector — nothing is uploaded.

   Read the labeled result

   The decoded text appears with handy hints: a direct Open link button for URLs, the SSID and password for Wi-Fi codes, the name for contact cards.

   Copy or scan another

   Copy the payload to your clipboard, then hit Scan another or Clear result to start over. The camera stops itself the moment a code is found.

Tips for better results

• 💡Make sure the whole code — all three corner squares — is inside the image; cropped corners can't be decoded.
• 💡Glare from screens and glossy print is the top failure cause; tilt the photo or scan straight-on.
• 💡For camera scans, steady the phone for a beat — the scanner samples frames about seven times per second.
• 💡Received a Wi-Fi QR? Double-check the password characters against the hint before typing them into your router.
