Key features
- Formatting toolbar — Bold, Italic, H2, Link and Code — wraps your current selection in the right syntax.
- Toolbar buttons insert a placeholder when nothing is selected, so you can click first and type after.
- Live rendered preview styled for the dark theme: headings, lists, blockquotes, code blocks, links and rules all styled.
- Copy markdown and download .md buttons export the exact source you wrote (as dailywebtools-document.md).
- Character and line counts sit under the editor, and a Load sample button demonstrates full syntax in one click.
- Rendering happens locally with react-markdown — the document is never uploaded anywhere.
How it works
Write or load the sample
Start typing in the Markdown panel, or press Load sample to see headings, lists, quotes and a code block rendered at once.
Use the toolbar for speed
Select some text and click Bold, Italic, H2, Link or Code — the syntax wraps your selection and keeps it highlighted.
Watch the preview update
The right panel re-renders on every keystroke, so you can verify structure as you write.
Export your document
Copy markdown puts the raw source on your clipboard; the .md button downloads it as dailywebtools-document.md. Clear wipes the editor when you're done.
Tips for better results
- There's no autosave — copy or download your work before closing the tab, since the editor intentionally stores nothing.
- Toolbar buttons respect the selection: highlight a phrase first, then click, and the marker wraps exactly that phrase.
- Fenced code blocks (```lang) render in a dark code panel — great for README snippets.
- Paste the .md straight into GitHub, Notion or any Markdown-aware tool; the syntax is plain CommonMark.
